Platycerium "SS Foong", which is called "thousand hand buddha" in Asian, is a notable cultivar within the staghorn fern genus, recognized for its distinctive, finely divided fronds that exhibit a unique curling pattern at maturity. This cultivar was developed by Mr. SS Foong, a renowned expert in Platycerium species, and is named in his honor.

The available pups are shown in Photo 3, and selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, these pups are listed across multiple platforms and may also be sold offline. Here’s a brief guide to the differences between a Platycerium pup (OG), tissue culture (TC), and sporelings:

Pups and TC plants generally retain the traits of their parent plants.
Sporelings, however, can show significant variation from their parents, which often makes them more affordable than TC or pups. That said, exceptional sporelings can develop unique traits. For example, the dwarf version of 'Yellow Moon' was selected from sporelings and is now valued higher than the standard 'Yellow Moon' in regions like Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
After three years of dedicated collecting, growing, and considerable investment in acquiring Platyceriums from across Asia, I now own over 200 varieties, including different species, hybrids, and cultivars. Many of these are now mature and are starting to display their distinct features, with some even producing pups.

Moving forward, I will continue to share more rare and authenticated cultivars from my verified mother plants. Each plant I offer has been carefully grown and selected to ensure you receive a high-quality, genuine plant that will stand out in any collection—all while being within reach.
